Bridgerton is back and better than ever! Penelope's life has gotten a whole lot more interesting than just being Lady Whistledown! She has a couple of suitors, she is looking for a husband, and she has a whole new wardrobe! Her dresses (and hair) have been truly amazing this season, and thank goodness! A girl can only wear so much yellow, especially with her complexion and hair color. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of her top looks this season.
The Green Dress
This is the dress that first sparked interest in her new wardrobe this season. It was premiered in the trailer, and it's truly giving absolutely gorgeousness. The dark green and sparkle of it is absolutely magnificent with her red hair. And based on how the dudes (and the ladies) in the ballroom reacted, we aren't the only ones who enjoyed this dress. Also, I need these gloves to become a trend because I want a pair!
Pastels in the Garden
This dress is similar to the ones we've seen her in during the past two seasons, but with her hair swept back with that gorgeous pin and the simplicity of the cut, it's perfection. The color works for her, and the little gauzy sleeves are so, so pretty. It also fits this scene very well. She's like a flower of her own in this garden. And she's blossoming into her own woman outside of her family. And she's with the man who is going to help her fully come into her own.
Embroidered Green Dress
This dress is very similar to the dress in the garden, but it shines on its own. She looks so pretty in it...I barely have words to describe it. The touches of embroidery hint at her blooming in society (for better or for worse), and the delicate top is all kinds of alluring. This may be my favorite dress she wore this season. Look how confident she looks here!

A Dream Dress
Sure, Penelope didn't actually wear this dress since it was Colin's dream, but it cannot go unnoticed. The fact that this is what Colin imagined Penelope in during his spicy dream is incredibly interesting. it's more structured than her normal clothing, with an absolutely exquisite bodice. The coat over the underdress also hints that this might be her nightgown and she put a robe over it to go outside. The fact that her hair is down also means so much! Ladies did not have their hair down or unstyled unless they were around their family or their husbands. Wake up, Colin! Penelope is your dream girl in more ways than one!
The dream dress also reminds me of this absolutely romantic silver-y white dress she wears when she's looking out across the street at the Bridgerton house. If this dress doesn't give historical romance heroine, I don't know what does.
Floral and Flirty
Could this dress be any more flirty? She might as well be showing off her ankles (the scandal!). The flowers, the intricate pattern on the fabric, the breezy color...everything is working. Combined with her "Paris" hair and makeup that is so on-point I could cry, this is definitely another look that cannot be overlooked. I would wear this in a split second. It screams spring and is another subtle sign of the transformation she's going through.
Honorable Mentions
Penelope quickly figured out that pale greens and blues are where she shines, and she went nuts at the seamstresses. Her dress at the air balloon festival (not shown) is just what you want to be wearing when you're rescued by two different men from a deadly balloon. And don't even get me started on the beautifully feminine dress she wears when she wraps Colin's hand in a bandage. How could he not fall in love with her when she's wearing such a gorgeous dress and her hair is like that? Come on, dude!
Besides her dark green dress, the only other one that sparkles is the one she wears in episode 2 at one of the many balls. It has some kind of glittery thread running through it and subtle beading sprinkled all over it. It's a dream of a dress, and it's the one small consolation after the hell that happened that night. I'm looking at you, Eloise!
With this many amazing dresses in only four episodes, I can't wait to see what's in store for Penelope's wardrobe in part 2 of season 3. It heads to Netflix on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
