Despite being largely separated from the Royal Family these days, Prince Harry is still an extremely busy man.

The Duke of Sussex recently released a Netflix series about the sport of polo and schedules public appearances at a jaw dropping rate for someone who does not carry any official obligations for the Crown. As such, it's natural for a person producing the work rate Harry does to keep some hobbies on the back burner whenever he needs them.

In the past, Tea and Banter covered Harry's love for sport and tendency to make surprise appearances at major sporting events and as a trending topic on social media. However, there are other passions the Duke of Sussex enjoys from time to time. According to reports, these hobbies include bird watching, walking his dogs, and swimming with his nieces and nephews!

When Prince Harry went viral on Instagram for catching some waves, we figured he was a huge fan of swimming in his spare time. Cambridgeshire Live reports that Princess Eugenie's children love hitting the water with their uncle and can't wait to spend more time with him once he finishes setting up his new house in Portugal. Even when he left the United Kingdom, Prince Harry made sure to live near the coastline, as he and his wife, Meghan Markle, moved to California the moment they decided to live in the United States.

However, Prince Harry's other outdoorsy hobbies connect with his apparent love for animals. InStyle reports that the Duke of Sussex enjoys bird watching and walking his dogs. They theorize that the Duke's hobbies are so normal because that's the type of life he searched for once he separated from the Royal Family.

InStyle also believes Harry's dog walking routine probably started after he and Meghan adopted their black Labrador, after getting married. If true, this means the Duke of Sussex really set out to become a normal person just like the rest of us once he got to America.

Of course, Prince Harry will never be "normal" in the way we usually define the word. The Duke understands that his resources give him a chance to help the world and advocate for causes that wouldn't get the same level of attention if he weren't involved.

Prince Harry combines his passion for philanthropy and love for sport by leading the Invictus Games Foundation, an organization dedicated to giving wounded military veterans a platform to show their grit, athleticism, and thirst for competition on a global stage. Through the Foundation's Invictus Games, wounded veterans get a chance to qualify for an international event and join a worldwide community of individuals managing the difficulties of every day life.

The Invictus Games Foundation helps Harry keep his inner athlete alive as he uses his fandom to make his own mark in the sports and recreation sector. Harry's production for his polo-focused series for Netflix still counts as his day job (how lucky!), but this was also another example of him using his platform and experience as a polo player to shed light on the modern realities of the sport.

As 2025 approaches, we don't expect Harry to find a way to integrate his love for bird watching into his professional routine. However, there is a chance he joins more animal-focused causes as he fills his upcoming schedule!
