With his most recent project, the Duke of Sussex has continued his quest to feed his curiosity in the world of sport.
Daily Mail reports that Prince Harry recently wrapped up a five-part documentary on polo that is set to air on Netflix. Harry's series will focus on the sport at a global scale, but the Royal Family has been playing the game themselves for decades.
A family full of passionate polo fans
The game of polo has been a tradition in the Royal Family since the early 1900s. Daily Mail claims that King George IV was the first royal to interact with the game and introduce it to the rest of the family. Since then, the men and women of the family have interacted with the sport in their own way.
Prince Harry and Prince William occasionally compete in charity tournaments to flex their muscles for a good cause and keep their love for the sport alive. In many cases, the wives in the Royal Family can be seen cheering on their husbands as they put on athletic performances for the crowd.
Apparently, Prince Phillip may have been the greatest polo player in the Royal Family by a large margin. Daily Mail's article shows that the Duke of Edinburgh had his own polo club and was even skilled enough to represent England on the national team. The Duke retired at the age of 50 due to a medical condition that made playing too difficult.
Eventually, the then Prince Charles would grow into a fine amateur player himself. According to reports, the current King of the United Kingdom raised an astonishing 12 million pounds while competing in charity tournaments over his career. One could argue that polo provided other dividends for the King as well, as he met his second wife, Queen Camilla, at a game once upon a time.
