The Butterkist Popcorn Emporium is here for the opening day of Wicked
By Kaki Olsen
With Wicked opening on November 22, there is a great deal of excitement across various brands and industries. While the cast named their favorite eateries in London, people in the city can find some specialty food related to the movie. Read on to find out about the special treats for the day of release and what else you can enjoy.
"A delicious journey to the merry old land of Oz"
If you're lucky enough to be in Soho on November 21 and 22, 2024, you can find The Butterkist Popcorn Emporium. The Secret.London instagram account has shared a reel highlighting "the enchanting Wicked-themed pop-up in London" and its many concessions.
The shop at 15 Bateman Street, Soho, W1 appears to be primarily a flavored popcorn option for consumers, but the sight of steaming drinks and something in a cocktail shaker piques interest as well. For those who are inclined to stop in, StarFreebies describes how this is more than just a popcorn store.
"Your treat will be available for some mouth-watering customisation with an array of delectable sweet and savoury toppers to mix and match some magical combos."
- StarFreebies
Patrons can receive a pack of "Amazifying" popcorn curing their visit. The shop is described as interactive, but it is made even more special when you consider that "visitors will also be able to capture unforgettable moments with Elphaba and Glinda in the interactive photo booth." A special competition is also involved in which you can win a "'thrillifying' adventure at a luxurious 4* hotel in London complete with a magic potion-making experience a makeover, a £200 git card for a shopping spree and a wizard-themed afternoon tea."
Beyond the Butterkist
This shop will close its doors on November 22, but there are still plenty of opportunities for movie fans to enjoy magical treats. Starbucks is featuring drinks for fans of both witches. We know that Regal Cinemas will have Popular Pink Icees and the Emerald City Freeze to wet our whistles, though we need to not sing along with the movie. If it's hard to keep your mouth shut, perhaps the caramel popcorn or the Twisted Churro will help quash the urge to join in with "Defying Gravity." I will certainly need something to keep me from keeping my silence at times.
Whatever you choose to eat or drink as the witches of Oz come to the theaters, enjoy the movie!
