The Great British Bake Off set to return on Sept. 26
By D. Goodman
There are few things in the world as consistent or comforting as The Great British Bake Off. Every year, twelve new bakers arrive at the massive white tent and try to be crowned Britain's best amateur baker.
The hosts may change, Mary Berry may be replaced with Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood's hair may get a bit more silver in it, but it's still essentially the same show. Three challenges, two days, one Star Baker and one baker who is told they aren't quite good enough.
And that's still the case as fans everywhere eagerly await Season 14. We have a new co-host in the form of Alison Hammond joining the returning Noel Fielding and 30 brand new challenges awaiting a new group of baking hopefuls.
The Great British Bake Off returns for Series 14 on Tuesday, September 26.
And now we finally know when the new season will begin and the ovens will be turned on.
The new season of The Great British Bake Off will kick off at 8 PM on Tuesday, September 26. The series will once again air on Channel 4 with the episodes following on Netflix shortly thereafter.
For those that consider themselves Bake Off hardcore fans, Hammond's name may ring a bell. That's because she previously appeared in the tent as a contestant on Celebrity Bake Off, where four entertainment personalities compete for charity.
Over the years The Great British Bake Off has become a cultural phenomenon. The terms “Soggy bottoms” and “Hollywood Handshake” have entered the popular lexicon. And while the show has had some controversies over the years, it's never derailed the feel good nature of the show.
So grease those tins, preheat those ovens and plug in those mixers. The Great British Bake Off returns in just a few weeks. And foodie nation couldn't be happier.
