When it comes to The Great British Bake Off, there is a lot to love about the series. And one thing we happen to love is the judges, Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood. They work well together and they actually compliment each other nicely in terms of judging style.

Over the years, we have actually enjoyed watching Leith on other British competition series as well, including Great British Menu, where she was a judge for a number of years. But one thing that surprised us to learn about Prue Leith is the fact that she is actually not watching Great British Bake Off when it airs. And no, she doesn't go back and watch it either.

According to a recent interview, it seems that there is a very good reason why Leith doesn't watch Great British Bake Off, and it is definitely one that many of us can understand and appreciate. So why doesn't one of our favorite food competition judges not watch her own series?

According to Weekend Magazine from the Daily Mail, it seems that it is all about the way she looks on screen!

"The trouble with our job as judges is you're looking down all the time and all your chins are on view. Then, to have a gob full of cake… I never watch Bake Off and the truth is not that I don't think it's a wonderful show, I do. I'm so vain, I cannot bear seeing my wobbly bits on view all the time."

Honestly, it is hard to deny that for a lot of us, being on camera is hard. And when you add in the fact that Leith is actually eating while on camera, it makes sense that she would feel this way.

While we love Prue Leith and what she brings to the tent on The Great British Bake Off, we can always understand why she might not want to see herself eating cake and maybe not always looking her very best. We are all our own worst critics, so her reasoning makes perfect sense, even if we think she looks lovely.

Are you at all surprised to find out that Prue Leith doesn't watch The Great British Bake Off? Does her reason make sense to you?
