Week 3 of Strictly Come Dancing is in the books on the BBC. And while the dances may have been inspired by a selection of classic movies, for some dancers this week was still a bit of a struggle. In fact, Nick Knowles had to bow out before the weekend even began due to injury.

However, Paul Merson, who has already had to defend himself against people who said he didn't look like he wanted to be there has lived to dance another day. If you had a chance to watch Merson and his professional partner, Karen Hauer, dance the cha cha to the theme from The Magnificent Seven, then it was quite clear that he was having a lot of fun on the dance floor.

Not only did it look like Paul Merson was enjoying the dance for this week's Strictly Come Dancing, but it also seemed like his technique had improved as well. Was he perfect? Of course not. He was still a bit stiff in his movements, but it was clear that he was trying and improving.

While there were certainly some moments during his cha cha when we would have loved to see a bit more from Merson, there is no denying that he has definitely upped his game for movies week.

Sadly, even though he definitely improved his technique, Paul Merson ended up in the bottom two against Toyah Wilcox and Neil Jones. But luckily for him, it seems as if the judges saw the same improvement in Merson as we did. And as the Daily Star reports, it was Wilcox and Jones who ended their time on Strictly Come Dancing. (You can see the samba performed by Wilcox and Jones above.)

Paul Merson is definitely improving in his time on Strictly Come Dancing and we love to see it. It was clear that he was enjoying his cha cha and the theme for his dance. Honestly, movie week seemed to agree with Merson and it was nice to see him having fun with his partner. Now let's just hope he is able to bring that improvement into week four.
