Strictly Come Dancing's Nick Knowles admits that you never feel "safe" in the competition

Now that the first elimination of the season is out of the way on Strictly Come Dancing, Nick Knowles has some thoughts on the competition and how he feels about his own performance so far. And perhaps unsurprisingly, he is not feeling all that safe when it comes to his place on the show.

As Knowles himself pointed out, he is not a dancer. The TV presenter explained on the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off, It Takes Two, that for the people who don't have the experience, there is no real safety in their competition.

"I think, to be honest, for those of us that have never had any dance experience at all, I don't think you ever feel that you are safe anyway."

And his thoughts make perfect sense. While he may not have been the worse dancer there, it has to be difficult to go so far outside of your comfort zone. Not only that, but with it also being about fan voting, as well as the scores from the judges, there are so many factors at play when it comes to one's safety in the competition.

Of course, that was not all he had to say, as he also seemed surprised that he actually made it out of the first elimination still in the competition.

"I was surprised that I didn't go after the first group number to be honest. So to actually still be a part of the thing! To see someone eliminated is really tough, because everybody behind the scenes has become such a lovely family that you have to sort of commiserate with one person and congratulate another at the same time. It's very odd."

There is a lot of work that goes into performing intricate dances every week. And for so many of these celebrities, this is not something they are familiar with. So being able to make it through the first week of eliminations has to feel like a major accomplishment to begin with.

Now it is all about seeing how far he can make it, as well as how he improves week after week. Nick Knowles may not be a professional dancer, but he is clearly giving it his all to prove that he has what it takes to be on Strictly Come Dancing.
