We have exciting news for fans of Food Network's Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking! It turns out that we were not the only ones who enjoyed the reality baking competition and now Food Network is giving it another season of magic.
According to Deadline, Food Network is giving Wizards of Baking a second season. It turns out that the series had solid rating following its November premiere. And considering it aired during the holiday season, that is great news. It can be hard to pull in viewers during a season when people are prepping for holiday gatherings.
Honestly, the news about the renewal is not that big of a surprise when you find out that apparently across the streaming platforms and the network it was able to pull in 16.4 million viewers. That’s exciting news for a brand new baking competition based on the world of Harry Potter.
Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is coming back for a second season of magic
It probably helps that it definitely got a boost from fans excited to see some of their favorites back on their screen. Having the actors who portrayed Fred and George Weasley hosting the series added a little something extra when watching. And we loved how both James and Oliver Phelps interacted with the bakers, as well as the guests who they have known most of their life at this point.
At the same time, the judges were great as well. You can never go wrong with Carla Hall as a judge on a baking competition. And we really loved Jozef Youssef as the second main judge, because he brings his own expertise and knowledge to the table. Plus, he also interacted so well with both Carla and the bakers.
We were hoping to get this news from Food Network as we loved how the judges didn't hold back when it came to sending bakers home, while also really acknowledging all of their talents. There was something special about this series and we are so excited to see how they change things up for Season 2, while also keeping the magic that kept us coming back for more.
According to the Head of Content, Betsy Ayala, "Viewers and Potter fans everywhere tuned in to see what these talented artists created each week, and we cannot wait to bring the audience an even more magical second season." And honestly, we can't wait either.
When it comes to a second season we hope there are a few more episodes, since Season 1 was just six episodes. And maybe that would give us a few more baking challenges to appreciate as well. But whatever they bring to the table, we are excited for a second season of Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking on Food Network.
