With Love, Meghan is not meant to be a "serious" cooking show

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex's new series is meant to be a break from the every day stress.

With Love, Meghan Season 1 began streaming on March 4 and with it came mixed reviews, plenty of criticisms and enough views to have it hit the top 10 charts in both the U.S. and the UK. Not only that, but Netflix has already announced that we will be getting a second season in the Fall of 2025.

Not only has there been a mixture of reviews of the series, but there have been editorials, interviews, and plenty of people hating on the Duchess of Sussex and her series. But part of the problem seems to be that they don’t understand the premise of the show. Obviously, we have the people who are literally just here to hate on the Duchess. They do not care what she does, they are going to hate on her. We get it. However, I also think there are people who expected more from the show.

With Love, Meghan is not meant to be a serious cooking show. In fact, I would say that it’s barely meant to be a cooking show. This series is more in line with the classic Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee, versus a Bobby Flay instructional cooking program.

This series is meant to be a more relaxing approach to lifestyle content. And lifestyle content is not just one thing. With Love, Meghan is meant to be a combination of hobbies, cooking, and the things that make Meghan happy. These are the things that bring her joy, and she is choosing to share that joy with her fans.

With Love, Meghan is not meant to be an instructional program, it's meant to be a more entertaining escape from every day life

If you are not her fan, you are not going to like this series. Because honestly, nothing she does is going to be something you enjoy. Plus, even if you are a fan, maybe you don’t like this type of lifestyle content. There are any number of reasons why you may not enjoy With Love, Meghan, but you absolutely will not like this if you are expecting a hard hitting cooking show, or even a decorating program.

And, there is no denying that there have been plenty of people who have tuned in and found something that they wanted to re-create. It’s all over social media. People are trying her pasta dish and deciding if it works for them. They’re finding ways to make it their own. People are making her donuts and appreciating the simplicity and fun of trying something new.

There are countless people taking to social media to share what they have taken away from With Love, Meghan. And that's all that any creator can ask for. Having people try to recreate something you made is the ultimate sign of a job well-done.

You don’t have to love this show, but you should at least understand that it’s not meant to be something serious. This is meant to be an escape. It is meant to be a more lighthearted program that maybe inspires you to try something new or do something a little different when having friends over.
