Here's a fun fact for your Easter Sunday: King Charles (usually) doesn't eat lunch!

However, he always makes a special exception for the family's special meal every Easter Sunday. The King's strict diet is so unusual that it once made a list of 70 facts that was released on his 70th birthday.

Ironically enough, Clarence House's description of the King's lunch habit (or lack thereof) doesn't add any extra context.

For those interested, Hello! Magazine has published an article detailing what the King eats while making his special exception. Further down, the piece also shares what Charles doesn't like to eat whether it's Easter or not!

It's well known that the Royals' Easter meal is a private affair. However, Hello! Magazine was able to glean some information from Darren McGrady, a chef who formerly cooked for the Royals and shares his expertise with various publications.

According to McGrady, the Royals traditionally enjoy roast lamb on Easter Sunday. Hello! Magazine explains that eating lamb during Easter Sunday is a symbol of "the 'sacrificial lamb' mentioned in the Old Testament [and Jesus,] the 'Lamb of God' who sacrificed themselves on the cross."

The Royals' Easter lamb is a tradition they've maintained for decades. Queen Elizabeth II usually got first dibs on her servings of lamb since she liked her pieces well-cooked.

McGrady revealed that the Royals usually eat side salads with their lamb and enjoy "all the trimmings" with their meat as they dine with one another.

After their main course is finished, the Royals partake in some cheese and fruit. According to Hello!, the family prefers the Windsor Cheese produced by the Windsor Dairy.

After the second course, it's finally time for dessert! Darren McGrady told Hello! Magazine that the Royals usually snack on Windsor peaches grown on the family's estate. During his tenure, McGrady also made hot cross buns for the Royals to enjoy with their afternoon tea.

Finally, for those who desired, the Royals and their children ate chocolate eggs that were specifically made for them. King charles' predecessor, Her Late Majesty, was a "total chocoholic" according to McGrady's knowledge. Despite this, King Charles almost never eats chocolate!

McGrady says that King Charles is "not a huge fan of chocolate at all" but "adores" eating lamb whenever he takes a break from his usual eating schedule.

King Charles is probably excited to sit down with his wife, Queen Camilla, and enjoy a wonderful family meal after celebrating his 20th year of marriage with her.

The couple's recent state visit doubled as a romantic getaway, and it's fitting that they'll reflect on the foundations of their union just a few days after their return.
