True love will always be stronger than life's setbacks.
Hello! Magazine reports that King Charles and Queen Camilla's state visit to Italy has become a celebration of their 20 years of marriage. The subtle change in the couple's itinerary comes after they learned of Pope Francis' inability to see them during their trip.
GB News reports that Pope Francis needs more time to recover from his recent health issues. Previous reports portrayed the King and Queen's audience with the Pope as a significant element of their trip.
Unfortunately, this monumental meeting will have to occur at a later date.
Despite this negative news, King Charles still has a chance to make history. Hello! Magazine also reports that Charles will be the first British Monarch ever to address a joint session of the Italian Parliament.
However, this week is one of the rare occasions where play comes before work, as the King and Queen have already posted some beautiful portraits to their official Instagram!
A beautiful memory for a beautiful couple
Earlier this week, the King and Queen posted a beautiful picture of them standing together as a couple.
In the caption of their post, the couple wrote, "As we begin our first visit to Italy as King and Queen, we are so looking forward to celebrating our twentieth wedding anniversary in such a special place - and with such wonderful people!"
The couple's revised itinerary includes visits to the Colosseum, Ravenna, and various restaurants and cultural landmarks.
At the Colosseum, the couple will enjoy a joint performance by the Welsh Guards and the Italian Granatieri di Sardenga.
In Ravenna, the King and Queen will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the city's liberation from Nazi occupation.
Outside of those activities, the couple will sample some of the finest food and culture Italy has to offer. This includes a visit to Dante's tomb to appreciate his literary genius and excellence.
Unfortunately, the King and Queen will have to spend some time apart from each other.
Hello! Magazine reports that King Charles will spend time with farmers who were impacted by the country's recent flooding. Meanwhile, Queen Camilla will meet with representatives from a charity that provides aid to victims of domestic violence.
All in all, it seems like King Charles and Queen Camilla are due to have a work trip to remember. We're looking forward to watching all the content that comes from the royals' visit, so be sure to tag us if you see something nice!
