When you put things into perspective, the House of Windsor hasn't had the best couple of years.
In a recent interview covered by Hello! Magazine, Sarah Ferguson expressed concerns about the emotional danger her daughters, Eugenie and Beatrice, are exposed to because of social media and other factors. According to the Duchess of York, younger people are at risk because "social media is a cesspit and it's very frightening what young people are exposed to."
After this quote, Sarah's tone got even darker, as she acknowledged the thoughts she had after being diagnosed with two forms of cancer within the span of a few months. The mother, author, and activist said that "cancer is like a bomb going off in your life" and that her mind "went to some dark places" as she reflected on her mortality.
Sarah's persistence and resilience shines through

Despite the challenges she's faced over the years, Sarah Ferguson always finds a way to persevere.
The Duchess' 2023 breast cancer diagnosis was successfully treated after she learned of her condition. Unfortunately, Sarah became aware of her skin cancer not too long after.
Sarah approached the second cancer diagnosis with the same courage she displayed the first time around. However, it's difficult to expect a person to act like everything is fine after they experience two traumatic events so closely together.
Fortunately, Sarah receives support from her daughters whenever she is at her lowest. In the same interview, the mother says that Eugenie and Beatrice love her "through thick and thin" and will prop her up no matter what happens.
The Duchess of York's pride in her daughters is well placed, as both of them are successful professionals and adults in their own right. Ever since a life changing trip to India, Princess Eugenie has been a significant advocate for young women experiencing precarious situations. Likewise, Princess Beatrice uses her influence as an executive to advocate for the ethical use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Sarah, Eugenie, and Beatrice's careers outside of royal life appear to keep them grounded in a positive way, as they're required to interact with the world around them and work normal jobs just like everybody else.
It's possible that Sarah Ferguson's second wind as an author will keep her emotionally charged as she tackles all the challenges life has in store moving forward. We hope the best for her and the rest of the Royal Family as they continue to deal with a list of personal challenges.
