Prince Louis, the youngest son of Prince William and Princess Catherine, recently contributed to a new Instagram post on his mother's official account.
Hello! Magazine reports that the young royal snapped a photograph of his mother in a "frosty woodland" to help her commemorate her first World Cancer Day since officially entering remission.
Princess Catherine has every right to reflect on her journey, as she's still acclimating herself to the new normal being in remission has created for her. The royal has been making more appearances lately, but Hello! Magazine estimates that Catherine has not resumed a full-sized workload just yet.
A mother and son bonding over an artistic moment
In the caption for her Instagram post, Princess Catherine reminds us all "to nurture that which lies beyond the disease." Below her caption is the hashtag #WorldCancerDay and a camera emoji with Prince Louis' name after it. Both of these details confirm the young royal's involvement in the post and that Catherine's cancer could be the disease she's referring to.
Princess Catherine's road to recovery consumed the majority of her time last year. Hello! Magazine's timeline of events recalls that Catherine first confirmed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024. From there, Catherine shared gradual updates about her health until she revealed that her preventative chemotherapy was over last September.
Since the completion of her treatment, Princess Catherine has worked to adjust to life as a survivor. Prince William, one of Catherine's biggest supporters, said that he hopes his wife will be able to join him on more trips in 2025. The Princess' progress lately shows that William may get his wish sooner rather than later.
In Prince Louis' case, the Princess' improving health could be a chance for them to bond over their shared interest in photography. Hello! explains that Princess Catherine has been an avid photographer since her days as a university student. In fact, the Princess of Wales is actually a learned scholar in the medium, as she studied the History of Art and wrote a dissertation on photography before she graduated.
Since starting her own family, Catherine has photographed her husband, children, and in-laws. According to Hello!, Queen Camilla has said that Catherine is "an extremely good photographer" and had "a lovely way of doing" a past photo session with the family.
Prince Louis has a long way to go before he becomes that experienced, but his work for his mother's Instagram is an amazing start! Time will tell where the young artist goes from here.
