Sarah Ferguson opens up about Princess Beatrice wearing the York Tiara for the first time
On June 1, Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (Edo), attended the royal wedding of Jordan’s crown Prince Hussein to Princess Rajwa. And according to Sarah Ferguson, it seems that her daughter opted to wear the York Tiara for this occasion.
Wearing the York Tiara at the wedding marks just the second time that Princess Beatrice has actually worn a tiara in public. And this is the first time she has specifically worn the York Tiara, as she wore the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara for her wedding in 2020.
According to People Magazine, Ferguson talked about her daughter, wearing the tiara for the first time as part of her new podcast Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah. The episode in question is her second podcast, and she opened up about how “very proud” she was of Beatrice, pointing out that she looked “incredible.”

For the wedding, Princess Beatrice wore a stunning, pale pink dress with a bell sleeve and gorgeous beadwork at the bust. Her hair was pulled back, but still left to flow down her back, acting as a perfect style to allow the York Tiara to shine. And shine it did.
In fact, we should not be surprised by the fact that the Tiara sparkled as Sarah Ferguson pointed out that, “I do keep it in the safe. It is a beautiful gift from the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh on my wedding day. It was very clean before 'cause I do shine it up. I was very proud that she wore it.”
We love the fact that for her second public outing wearing a tiara, Princess Beatrice opted to wear the York tiara. Not only because it’s a representation of her mother, but also her family in general. And she truly looked stunning in her pale pink dress with the York Tiara.
And beyond the fact that Princess Beatrice looked every inch a royal wearing that tiara, we love the fact that Sarah Ferguson chose to talk about how proud it made her to see her daughter wearing the family heirloom.
