Jonathan Bailey attended the Met Gala in a custom Loewe suit with floral embellishment
May 6 was the Met Gala, and for this year's theme it was all about "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" with a dress code of "The Garden of Time." While the theme and dress code may have caused a bit of confusion, there were some very interesting looks that walked the red carpet for the event.
For fans of Bridgerton, the Met Gala was a chance to see Jonathan Bailey rocking a custom Loewe suit! It was a stunning look that saw the actor rocking a white and black double breasted suit jacket, with classic black slacks and black shoes. Sounds simple enough, but it was all about the embellishments here.
Instead of wearing a tie, Bailey rocked an oversized floral detail in muted shades of pink and white. It was a statement just with that floral "tie." But that was not the only floral embellishment, as he also had a smaller flower in the same colorway at his hip.
As Town & Country points out, this is just the second time that Jonathan Bailey has attended the Met Gala, and this time around he opted for a bit more pizzaz with his look. While he kept things elegant and simplistic (listen he rocked a tuxedo from Tom Ford that featured a velvet blazer so we can't really call it simple, but in relation to the Met Gala it was) during his last appearance, he definitely stepped things up a bit for the 2024 event.
While he was really not over the top with his look, you can tell that there was some thought put into the floral detail and even the suit itself. Honestly, I really loved this look, even if it was a lot more low-key than some of the other fits that walked the red carpet. I think the floral embellishment in the place of the tie was a nice touch that made him look like he was attempting to adhere to the dress code for the event.
We really hope that he gets invited for a third year, because we would love to see how he steps up his game for another walk down the Met Gala red carpet!
