In case you may be living under a rock, Doctor Who is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2023 along with a new season (and a new Doctor) to come in 2024. For science-fiction fans, it's a pretty big deal and the BBC is pulling out all the stops to make it special.

There is the trio of 60th anniversary specials coming later this year featuring the return of David Tennant and Catherine Tate to the franchise as well as audio dramas, books and as we mentioned, the arrival of all all-new Doctor.

And it looks like the podcast Doctor Who: Redacted is also getting in on the fun. It's being reported by Digital Spy that the popular podcast from last year is returning for a second season of true crime stories as three friends investigate who a big blue phone box keep appearing at key times in history.

Doctor Who: Redacted returns with new episodes on September 18.

Season 2 of Redacted features the return of Charlie Craggs as Cleo, Lois Chimimba as Abby and Holly Quin-Ankrah as Shawna as well as the addition of Freddy Carter as space traveller Apex Costa.

The trio are more determined then ever to continue investigating the blue police box (aka the Tardis) but with Abby and Shawna now an item, Cleo feels like the proverbial third wheel. Enter Apex Costa and the mysterious reasons why he has arrived on Earth.

Guest stars for Season 2 include Anjli Mohindra, Alexander Armstrong, Maggie Service as well as Teri Ann Bobb-Baxter. Juno Dawson returns from Season 1 to lead the writer's room and Bethany Weimers will serve as director.

Doctor Who: Redacted returns with weekly episodes starting on September 18 and will be available via BBC Sounds. It should serve as the perfect appetizer for the upcoming 60th anniversary celebreation.
