Did Queen Elizabeth II approve of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan naming their daughter Lilibet?

When it comes to the royal family, there always seems to be drama revolving around Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan. Even if we don't see much of them in the public eye, it seems like people find a way to talk about them. And this includes bringing up old news.

Recently, reports have circulated that indicate that Queen Elizabeth II was actually not happy about the fact that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan named their daugher Lilibet, which was the nickname that the late queen was called by her husband, Prince Philip. Now another report is indicating that is false and that not only was the queen consulted about the name, but she approved it.

According to US Weekly, a source has told them exclusively that, "Meghan and Harry 100 percent got permission from the queen to use the name Lilibet."

The allegations that were made that stated that Queen Elizabeth II was upset about her grandson and granddaughter-in-law can be found in an upcoming book about King Charles III, which will be released later in January 2024. And it seems that a member of the late queen's staff also indicated that the queen was upset about the name choice.

However, the US Weekly source states that this is not true and the couple is apparently shocked that this is coming out now, years after the fact. The source went on to say, "They’re shocked that this is coming now; it seems out of nowhere and out of left field. They just feel like it’s more of the same spear campaign that continues against them."

Obviously, the queen is not here to say anything about how she felt regarding Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan naming their daughter after her. And it clearly took this long for people to really go after the couple for using the name Lilibet, which feels like they are just looking for new reasons to be mad at them.

Honestly, the continued attacks on Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are getting old. At some point people need to move one and maybe find new things to be mad about. But that's just what I think about this latest drama.
