You'll never guess what Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Princess Catherine have in common.
A recent article from PureWow reveals that the Duchess of Sussex and Princess of Wales both share a love for beekeeping. The two love the practice so much that they have their own bee suits, beehives, and knowledge of how to harvest honey themselves.
PureWow points out that Meghan's unusual hobby was highlighted in an early episode of With Love, Meghan.
Not too long after the show begins, a scene with Meghan in full beekeeping gear comes on screen for her viewers to behold. The Duchess, with bracelets, rings, and other accessories on her person, picks up a honeycomb and starts knocking off some of the good stuff for herself!
She's got guts, that's for sure
In the same scene, Meghan says that she likes beekeeping because it's "that little reminder to do something that scares you a little bit."
As the Instagram post above shows, Princess Catherine's practice of the hobby is fairly similar to her sister-in-law's. Catherine also wears her own beekeeping gear and knows how to safely interact with the bees in the hive.
Catherine's post was made to highlight World Bee Day. In her caption, Catherine wrote that bees are an important part of our ecosystem and help keep us all healthy in their own way.
It'd be nice if Meghan and Catherine could strike up some amicable conversations about their love for bees and how harvesting their own honey impacts their dinner tables. Meghan's new show focuses on how cooking influences her while Catherine's most recent activities show that she's somewhat of a baker herself.
With Love, Meghan's first run was so successful that Netflix announced a second season has already been filmed. The next set of episodes is scheduled to release this fall, which means Meghan may have to ramp up her promotional activities soon.
On Catherine's end, her career as a working member of the Royal Family doesn't give her a chance to show off her cooking skills and preferences for the camera that often. Her recent visit to Pontypridd, South Wales gave her a chance to bake Welsh cakes with Prince William at The Welsh Cake Shop's bakery.
She said hi to some local supporters afterwards, but it doesn't seem like the Princess of Wales will be launching a live cooking tour anytime soon. That's okay since reports have already confirmed that Catherine will be attending her first Commonwealth Day Service of Celebration since 2023.
