King Charles has resumed his public duties after experiencing what royal sources called a "minor bump" in his journey with cancer.

A new report from GB News shows that King Charles bestowed a few honors to citizens who've shown their dedication to the United Kingdom.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson, a former world champion in the heptathlon, received an MBE for her services as an athlete.

King Charles gave his friend, Alan Titchmarsh, a CBE for his services to horticulture and charity.

A picture captioned by GB News also shows that Miss Marianela Nunez was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

The King's busy day highlighted his willingness to jump right back into the water after experiencing side effects from a recent cancer treatment. Moving forward, Charles plans to meet all of his official obligations. However, he will have to reschedule the affairs he missed while managing his health.

GB News reports that "a small number of appointments have been rescheduled to ensure an appropriate balance ahead of the busy state visit to Italy next week."

That's good to hear since international travel, and the itinerary King Charles plans to keep, can be hard on a man experiencing medical setbacks.

The rest of King Charles' week will include meetings at the Buckingham Palace, a public engagement in Windsor, and the celebration of Mission Aviation Fellowship's 80th anniversary during an event at RAF Northolt.

GB News claims that the King will end his work week by making preparations for his state visit to Italy on April 9th.

Previous reports revealed that King Charles and Queen Camilla will be visiting Pope Francis during their time in Italy as well. The Church of England and the Catholic Church have enjoyed an improved relationship in recent times; and Their Majesties will attend a special service to help celebrate the trend.

Pope Francis has been dealing with his own health issues since February. Like King Charles, he refuses to entertain any talks about stepping down or reducing his official duties.

Fans of the Pope and King Charles should appreciate the significance of the two's meeting later this month, as we don't know the next time King Charles will be making an appearance in Italy.

Hopefully, the Pope and the King can continue serving in their posts for years to come. Of course, if they had it their way, they'd probably be hitting the pavement forever.
