New updates show that King Charles canceled some personal vacations after experiencing side effects caused by his most recent round of chemotherapy.

A new report from Hello! Magazine shows that King Charles canceled an African spa trip and a walking holiday in Romania after being hospitalized. However, the outlet also claims some of the King's changes to his schedule are unrelated to his recent round of cancer treatments.

Danielle Stacey, Hello! Magazine's Online Royal Correspondent, writes that King Charles' side effects "are understood to be temporary and not uncommon with many medical treatments."

Stacey also reports that King Charles has been very transparent throughout his journey with cancer. The King of the United Kingdom usually provides frequent updates through his official channels and maintains a vigorous schedule of public appearances.

Could the King's intense work schedule be betraying him?

Last week, Page Six reported that King Charles was seen riding in a car one day after he was hospitalized. The outlet reported that King Charles returned to his estate after being discharged from the private facility he receives treatment from.

Hello! Magazine's Online Royal Correspondent reports that the King told cancer patients in Northern Ireland that he will keep "buggering on" after a recent public appearance.

However, the King's dedication to his work could be doing more harm than good.

After being hospitalized, a spokesperson for the King stated that Charles was supposed to receive Credentials from the Ambassadors of three different nations that afternoon. After that, the King was scheduled to make four public appearances the next day.

This rugged schedule can't be great for a man deep into his older years. The King's work ethic is admirable and should be respected, but one has to wonder if King Charles will be able to maintain his hectic travel itinerary.

The King's spokesperson said the King is eager to reschedule the appointments he missed at a later date, which shows that Charles isn't interested in taking too many days off if he doesn't have to.

King Charles' determination to maintain his current schedule hints that he plans to keep his highly anticipated visit to Italy on the books.

The King is currently scheduled to visit Pope Francis in April and enjoy a list of cultural activities during his stay. Unfortunately, Pope Francis is dealing with his own health issues as well.

The Bishop of Rome was hospitalized with a lung infection in February. Like King Charles, Pope Francis has no plans to step down from his office despite his health.
