There could be some tension between Prince Andrew and his relatives within the Royal Family.

A recent article from GB News reports that King Charles made a public visit to Imperial College London's Centre for Injury Studies without making any acknowledgement of Prince Andrew's birthday.

It must be mentioned that King Charles made the visit to Imperial College London to highlight the United Kingdom's support for service members who were injured during the conflict in Ukraine.

The conflict is about to reach its third year of activity, and a significant part of Imperial College London's research focuses on how UK agencies supported injured service members during the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

GB News explains that Imperial College London's current research also examines how the UK can learn from Ukraine's use of combat medicine and rehabilitation of combat-related injuries.

So, it is understandable why King Charles could have been focused on more sobering matters during the early portions of Prince Andrew's big day. However, the King and the rest of the Royal Family never got around to mentioning the Prince before the day was done.

Underlying tensions as Prince Andrew's public struggles continue

King Charles' high profile visit to Imperial College London coincidentally came on Prince Andrew's 65th birthday. The Prince has avoided the public eye since he stepped back from his royal duties in 2019, but that usually doesn't stop members of the Royal Family from mentioning each other during special occasions.

GB News and others noticed that the Royal Family's official social media accounts didn't mention Prince Andrew's birthday at all.

To make matters worse, Prince Andrew's birthday was absent from the Prince William and Princess Catherine's socials as well.

Milestone birthday's like Prince Andrew's 65th are usually mentioned by the senior members of the Royal Family on their official platforms. Andrew's lack of celebration hints that there could be underlying tensions within the House of Windsor when it comes to the Duke of York's standing within the family.

Last year, King Charles cut all financial ties from his brother. Reports from the book Charles III: New King, New Court, The Inside Story revealed that King Charles had ended Prince Andrew's allowance and his access to private security.

The King did not completely excommunicate his brother, however. Prince Andrew was still allowed to live in properties owned by the Royal Family, but Charles moved to evict Andrew from The Royal Lodge because the Duke of York did not repair and maintain the residence like he was supposed to.

Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew's ex-wife, has defended the father of her daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, from negative public reports. However, the lack of attention paid to Andrew on his birthday shows that he has more than the UK media to worry about.
