King Charles III deals with brother Prince Andrew's financial issues
King Charles has finally decided to take action against his brother, Prince Andrew, regarding his finances, Hello magazine reports.
For a while, it has been speculated that His Majesty wants to evict his younger brother from his longtime home of Royal Lodge.
According to Robert Hardman's updated book, Charles III: New King, New Court, The Inside Story, the monarch has claimed that the disgraced royal is "no longer a financial burden on the King."
As per Hardman's reporting, the British monarch has cut Andrew's financial ties, which includes his yearly allowance to the monarchy and his privately funded security.
It is also believed that the King requested that his younger brother move from the Royal Lodge into the much smaller Frogmore Cottage, previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Is King Charles done with Prince Andrew?
Royal Lodge is where Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson primarily raised their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie after the death of The Queen Mother in 2002. The girls have since moved out, as they're both married with children of their own.
The Duke of York signed a 73-year lease for Royal Lodge in 2003. But there was one catch. He would have to maintain the property. Allegedly, this is one of the reasons why the King wants his brother out of the house, due to the lack of maintenance it is getting. It is believed that the house is in desperate need of millions of dollars worth of repairs
Andrew's former wife has allegedly waved away the rumours that her ex-husband is under 'pressure' by responding with "don't believe everything you read."
Royal Lodge was constructed in the 19th Century and sits on the Windsor Estate. Andrew and Fergie, since their divorce in 1996 have continued to live together. Upon moving into The Queen Mother's former home, they have lived in separate wings of the house.
