It was a short but poignant royal tour for King Charles and Queen Camilla as they wrap up their two day visit to Canada. In fact, it seems that the King and Queen have already departed the country and are heading back to the UK.
However, before heading back, the couple did share a very heartfelt statement about their visit. Specifically, they shared their appreciation for how they were received by the country and the people.
In the statement, which was shared by GBN, King, Charles and Queen Camilla shared that, “we wanted to send our most heartfelt thanks to all those who turned out to offer their support on this, my first visit as sovereign. It was the warmest of welcomes – and the fondest of returns to a land and a people we love.”
They ended their message by essentially stating that they would be returning to the country in the future. And that is not that big of a surprise, as King Charles has visited Canada before, although at the time he was the Prince of Wales.
This statement in itself was clearly a personal message from the King and Queen as it was signed by Charles R and Camila R.
The King and Queen have finished their royal visit to Canada
Although it was technically a two day visit to Canada, this particular royal tour only lasted around 24 hours. In that 24 hours the King and Queen participated in a number of events, including the opening of Canada‘s Parliament session.
Other things that the King and Queen got to experience on this visit, included a reception that honored the provincial lieutenant governors of the country, as well as the territorial commissioners. They were able to plant a commemorative tree next to another tree that they planted on their visit back in 2017. And of course they met the new Prime Minister on this visit.
Now that the Royal tour of Canada is over, we are looking forward to seeing what else the King and Queen will be doing this year. Of course, King Charles is still undergoing cancer treatments, so it does make sense that this was a very short visit. But it will be interesting to see where else he is visiting in 2025.
