We have officially made it to the black jacket portion of Hell’s Kitchen. And that means that our final six needs to battle for their spot in the top five. So it’s time for our three rounds of competition to determine who has what it takes to wear a black jacket.

When it comes to picking the person who is going to run one of his restaurants, we all know that Gordon Ramsay does not play around. So we also know that when it comes to the black jackets, he is the same way. And it was nice to see his reaction to everyone’s dishes in the first round of the competition. It was clear that he was very impressed with every single one of his chefs. And so were we, because they were able to make amazing dishes that really spoke to who they were a chefs.

It was a battle to the end for the black jackets on Hell’s Kitchen

However, we really appreciate the fact that the first two people to get black jackets from Ramsay this season where Hannah and Brandon as they both created dishes that seemed to shine. They truly delivered when it mattered most.

In the second round, the first person to be handed a black jacket was Whit, who seemed to struggle when she didn’t get a jacket in the first round. But she pulled it out and proved that she had what it took to be in the top five. And we were excited to see that the second person to get their black jacket in this round was none other than Kyle, who has been a bit of a star in and out of the kitchen.

This is one of those episodes where we get to find out who has a chance to walk away with the title of head chef for Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen. And that is why there are a lot of emotions that go into this episode. And we’ve seen that since the beginning, in particular with Whit and how she felt after not being chosen for a black jacket in the first round. So we were not surprised when in the third round Amanda struggled, but she wasn’t alone. Both Amanda and Egypt were very emotional in this round. This is their dream on the line and this is the dish that determines which one of them gets the final black jacket of the season.

After intense battle, and three rounds of impressive cooking, Gordon Ramsay handed out his final black jacket. So who did he ultimately choose to be in his top five? In the end, it was Egypt who showed Chef Ramsay that he could be his next head chef.

This was a tough battle. And it seems as if the best chefs won their black jackets. Now they just have to prove that Gordon Ramsay made the right decision and make it hard for him to send any of them home.
