Could we get an all-star season of Great British Bake Off?
After 15 seasons, it seems as if there is hope for an all-star season of the Great British Bake Off (also known as the Great British Baking Show is in the U.S.). And while we could obviously point to some of the holiday specials and call them all-star episodes, it does sound like we could end up with a full season of returning bakers.
According to TV Insider, Kieran Smith who is the executive producer and creative director for GBBO has shared that there is interest in a possible all-star season in the tent. While other reality cooking shows have certainly given us all-star seasons, including MasterChef and Hell's Kitchen, this is not something that GBBO has done so far.
However, while it has yet to be done that doesn't mean that it won't happen. In fact, during a recent interview, Smith expressed interest in a full 10 episode all-star season of GBBO.
Will there ever be an all-star season of GBBO?
So what exactly did Kieran Smith have to say about a potential all-star season?
"I think the vast majority of the bakers would take part in it. People would love to see how their favorite bakers from the past would fare. There’s something fun about crowning the ultimate champion at this point."
- Kieran Smith
Considering the excitement that seems to come over the bakers when they get invited back into the tent for holiday specials and charity bakes, it makes sense that other bakers would be interested in coming back for a full season to showcase their growth and the fun they have in the kitchen. The real question is who all would come back for an all-star season.
