Have you ever had a £25 million castle just laying around? Me either, but King Charles does!
A new report from Hello! Magazine shows that Charles recently visited his rarely used residence in Northern Ireland, Hillsborough Castle.
The King last visited his multi-million pound castle in 2019. Before this, the castle underwent a five-year block of renovations that ended the same year.
Queen Elizabeth didn't frequent Hillsborough Castle that much either when she was alive. Her last visit to the Northern Irish locale was in 2016 - 6 years before her death.
The castle itself is actually quite beautiful. One of the rooms is decorated with a stylish painting of King Charles sitting in a suit. The room's walls are painted a subtle yellow and have gold mirrors hanging from them as well.
A different part of the castle also sports yellow colored walls, but they're differentiated with red floral curtains and multiple pieces of artwork. This room was used by Queen Elizabeth whenever she decided to visit.
It's nice to be home every once in a while, right King Charles?

Most of us don't know what it's like to have sprawling historic estate collecting dust in our portfolio. Of course, King Charles is just a tad bit different from the average person.
Like other members of the Royal Family, King Charles is usually busy showing up to some kind of diplomatic endeavor or philanthropic interest. However, he's actually begun adding even more to his calendar in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, King Charles added "podcaster" to his long list of job titles by launching a new project with Apple Music.
The podcast, entitled The King's Music Room, covers King Charles' favorite music from the Commonwealth and celebrates generations of musical artistry in the process.
Charles released promotional content on his social media channels to advertise the new project and personally hosted the show himself. He received positive reviews for his work, which seemed like the perfect type of project to knock out in the comfort of your quiet, lightly used home in Hillsborough, Northern Ireland.
Luckily, there's somebody who uses the house whenever King Charles and Queen Camilla are away. The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Hilary Benn, lives in Hillsborough Castle while completing his own official duties for the government.
I guess this gives King Charles a familiar point of contact to call whenever his water bill is higher than usual!
