In one of the most unexpected twists of 2025, King Charles just dropped one of the best music podcasts in the entire business.
The King's Music Room is a collaboration between the King of the United Kingdom and Apple Music that celebrates the rich diversity and musical heritage of countries associated with the Commonwealth of Nations.
Hello! Magazine reports that artists like Davido (Nigeria), Bob Marley (Jamaica), and Kylie Minogue (Australia) were some of the many artists that made King Charles' 17-track compilation of hits from various decades and continents.
However, there were two artists who made the cut that don't originate from a country located within the Commonwealth's vast membership!
An undeniable addition to anybody's playlist

As if the launch of his own podcast wasn't enough to send us into a tizzy, King Charles revealed that Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love" and Diana Ross' "Upside Down" were so good that he had to make some exceptions to the whole "artist must have been born in a Commonwealth country" rule.
According to a different Hello! Magazine report, the King said that Beyoncé is "one of the [King's] Trust’s most faithful supporters" and congratulated her for winning her first Album of the Year Grammy Award earlier this year.
When discussing the Diana Ross track he selected, Charles noted that "it was absolutely impossible not to get up and dance" whenever "Upside Down" was played during his younger years.
King Charles' personality shone through while he was discussing the justification for his two exceptions, and crew members who worked on the podcast's production claimed that the monarch was actually a one take wonder!
Hello! Magazine confirms that the final version of the podcast was recorded in the 18th century Room in Buckingham Palace, the same room that serves as the King's private office whenever he isn't sharing his taste in music with the rest of the world.
How did this all come about?
On Thursday March 6, the King posted a mysterious message to his official social media channels. Some of the images showed him sitting in front of a vintage "on air" sign as if he was about to broadcast something important to the public.
Hello! Magazine saw that comments from around the internet immediately guessed that the King was about to drop his own podcast in the new media arena. However, many thought that the project would end up presenting conversations between the King and his wife, Queen Camilla.
However, there was a huge hint that should have told us the King would be launching a project highlighting his favorite tunes in one of the most accessible formats possible
In his posts, the King included footage of the royal guard performing excerpts of Bob Marley's 1980 classic "Could You Be Loved." This Easter egg showed that the project would eventually involve something melodic and connected to one of the Commonwealth of Nations' many members.
The King's Music Room premiered March 10 on Apple Music 1 for free. However, anyone who wants to catch it again will have to subscribe to Apple Music's streaming service.
