What did Prince William get his college degree in?
No matter who you are, education is important. And this is especially true for members of the royal family, who tend to act as the public face of the UK thanks to their many duties to the crown. For Prince William, who will be the future King of the UK, being well educated was extremely important.
As any royal fan knows, college is where the Prince of Wales met his future wife, Princess Catherine. And as many of us know, the Princess was an art history major at the university. In fact, that is how the royal couple met. When Prince William first declared a major for his degree, it was initially in art history.
However, art history really wasn't for the prince. In fact, he has apparently admitted to falling asleep in his art history classes, which left him needing to find a better major. So what exactly did Prince William get his degree in?
Prince William ditched the art history degree for a completely different major
It turns out that Prince William opted for a degree in geography after realizing that art history was not for him. According to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, the future king graduated with geography degree in 2005, which makes perfect sense when looking at the program from St. Andrews, where he and Princess Catherine attended school.
As the University of St Andrews describes their geography program, this is where students learn about both the physical environment and the impact of human society on the world.
"Bridge the gap between human society and the physical environment, and find solutions to some of humanity’s most pressing problems, such as environmental change, population dynamics, biodiversity loss and global inequalities."

All things considered, this was a great switch for Prince William and it certainly makes sense in terms of his role as a royal. And of course, knowing that he fell asleep during his original course of classes, it seems as if he made the right decision to switch to a program that was of more interest to his work after school.
