With a 100 per cent Rotten Tomatoes score and a 7.7 IMDB rating, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl earns Oscar nod for Best Animated Feature nomination.
After receiving four Oscars before, three of them being for his previous Wallace and Gromit movies and one for a short film called Creature Comforts, the director Nick Park is over the moon.
According to the BBC, Nick Park is extremely “ecstatic” about receiving an Oscar nomination for his hard work. He didn’t believe it at first but thought it was a “surprise and real privilege.”
He explained that no matter how many times you have won an Oscar before, each new nomination is equally “incredible.” He assumed such a nomination was a reward for an artist’s hard work as he praised all his team members, including the director of photography, music, editors, and animators.
Watching the movie, one can tell how much strenuous pain has been put into moving the objects from one frame to another. Traditional stop-motion animation is surely a deadly ride, and Park confessed that he loved sticking to the “old technique.”
He teamed up with the Emmy award-nominated Merlin Crossingham for yet another excellent project in which they stayed true to the essence and narrative of the story. The main villain of the story, which is always Feathers McGraw, is back for revenge.
As per Lancashire Post, Merlin was thrilled when he heard about the Oscar nomination. He tweeted, “I nearly spilt my tea!” He revealed in an interview on Radio 4 (by BBC) that he was with his team at their studio when the live streaming of the Academy’s announcements was on air. They couldn’t hold their cheers and screams as “it was just a wonderful moment.”
An Instagram post with thumbs up from both Wallace and Gromit was something we couldn’t take our eyes off from.
Plot of Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl
The story revolves around the new so-called intelligent gnome, Norbot, created by Wallace, whose inventions previously wreaked havoc. Gromit, his dog, is again concerned about Wallace’s over-dependence on his inventions.
The story moves forward when Feather McGraw uses Norbot to help him out of prison and hacks him for this purpose. Norbot takes the help of fellow robot gnomes and this is where Wallace and Gromit come in to save the day.
Nick Parker has never failed to entertain us with his funny stories and characters, bringing heart-warming joy. Of course, his commendable elbow grease needs a standing ovation, therefore, an Oscar nomination is worth it all.
