Vanderpump Villa is back for a second season of drama and hijinks on Hulu. And not only did Lisa Vanderpump move her villa from France to Italy, but she also added new faces to the mix. Yes, there are some very familiar people from season one, including Hannah, Gabriella, Andre and even Marciano.

In fact, in the opening scenes where we get to see the new staff mingling with the old staff, they have a cut away where a producer asks Lisa why she decided to bring Hannah and Marciano back. And she starts off by saying that they were a train wreck in season one, but she wanted to give them a second chance.

Having these returning members of the staff already adds to the drama that we know we are going to see. The fact that we get to see a bit of an apology tour from Marciano as the season begins, gave us the immediate proof that we needed that this season is probably going to be just as drama filled as season one. And we’re here for it.

As much as we are looking forward to seeing what Lisa Vanderpump has in store for her guests, it’s also about how the staff work together and what they bring to the table. The fact that there is a monetary bonus on the line as well as a job offer at one of Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants to the best employee of the villa, also means that we are going to see people backstabbing each other. Or at the very least, we definitely expect a bit of sabotage and people forgetting how to act. Yes there is a lot on the line, but it’s almost like people forget it in the heat of the moment.

Everybody is going to want that money, as well as that job opportunity. So the fact that this is how everything is kicking off in season two is the proof we need that this is gonna be another entertaining ride.

Vanderpump Villa is back for another season and it kicks off with drama, a guest who is sticking around and an incentive

STASSI SCHROEDER, LISA VANDERPUMP
VANDERPUMP VILLA - “New Staff, New Secrets…New Stassi” - After success in France, Lisa Vanderpump is back, and once again curating bespoke experiences for eager guests. This time around an Italian castle is the backdrop. Stassi Schroeder returns, and there’s a mix of familiar and new staff ready to impress. (Disney/Andrea Miconi) STASSI SCHROEDER, LISA VANDERPUMP

The very first episode of Vanderpump Villa’s second season doesn’t necessarily start off slow, but I do think that the drama felt a little bit forced. And of course, that initial drama does have to do with Hannah and Marciano. What we weren’t expecting was Dominic, one of the new cooks, getting involved in that drama because he was trying to stop an issue. Clearly he was not prepared for the heat he was subjected to.

The very first guest arriving at the villa, is actually someone who will be staying for the entire season. And if you are a fan of Lisa Vanderpump and her shows, you’ll already be familiar with this guest. That’s because the resident guest of the season is none other than Stassi Schroeder and her family.

As Stassi joins the villa, she and Lisa have a sit down where they not only talk about the past, but the future. It turns out, that Lisa is planning to really rely on Stassi this season. She basically wants Stassi to be a snoop amongst her employees. She wants to know what’s really going on when she’s not around. And what better way to do that than direct information from someone who is not necessarily part of the staff, but who’s more than just a guest?

To kick things off now that Stassi and her family are there, there is a family dinner with Lisa Vanderpump and her husband. It is the first opportunity for the staff to prove that they can handle this summer and any requests that come their way.

It was a great opening episode for the new season. And one of the best aspects was the subtitles under each person’s name, that either pointed out what they do on the staff or hinted at an interesting aspect of their character. In one instance, Hannah is talking about the fact that she’s changed, and instead of saying what she is underneath her name it said “she’s changed, people” and that was such a nice touch of humor.
