It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the titular Traitors on The Traitors. That continued on the sixth episode, which dropped Thursday. It began with a tense meeting in the turret.
Carolyn knows that Danielle has been setting her up. And Rob knows that both of them are uneasy. That makes for a difficult time as they can’t seem to find common ground. Eventually they settle on a truce—with Danielle promising to undo the damage done to Carolyn tomorrow. And they agree on a murder target.
At breakfast the following morning we learn it was Bob H. who found himself on the chopping block. Rob is eager to clip Bob’s wings because he challenged Rob. Bob H., for his part, is a bit disappointed to see his run end. But his murder also leaves the rest of the cast scrambling to figure out the logic and find new targets.
That leaves Tom, our resident wild theorist, believing that the remaining Housewife Delores is a Traitor. He tries to push that theory out wide and meets with a bit of derision. Meanwhile Derrick and Wes have settled on making a push for Rob. Will it be a success?
There is little time for more scheming as the players gather for the week’s challenge. It involves collecting gunpowder—and three shields—to try and blow up a giant Traitor statue. Can they get there? At first, the players seem more focused on the shield than winning the challenge. But, in the end, they are successful, adding $30,000 to the prize pot.
The real explosions come at the Roundtable. As we enter, it’s clear that Derrick is planning to make his move on Rob. But before he can even begin, Delores wants Tom to explain himself. He does, in typically confused Tom fashion, eating up precious time and generating a few chuckles.
Finally, Derrick shoots his shot. Wes tries to chime in, but Rob quickly shifts the suspicion to Wes, knowing this is all coming. Wes does himself no favors with his blunt comments that put many players, particularly the ladies, ill at ease. It ends up backfiring. In a tight vote Wes gets seven, Rob gets five and Wes is banished. When he’s revealed to be a Faithful, the whole crew seems deflated, yet again.
But before the vote can take place, Carolyn shoots her shot. After spending the day learning that Danielle seemingly doubled down on trying to take her out, Carolyn sews dissent and calls out Danielle at the table. She even casts a vote for Danielle—the lone player to do so. Meanwhile, Danielle joined Derrick’s ploy and voted for Rob, who survived.
We end the night with yet another fractured and tense night in the turret. The Traitors all remain but can they actually come together to win this game? That’s seeming more and more unlikely.
The Traitors streams Thursdays on Peacock.
