Season 23 of Hell’s Kitchen has been an interesting ride. With all of the competitors being head chefs, there is a level of expertise that we expect to find from every single one of these chefs. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case as there have been quite a few people in this kitchen who have not only struggled, but who have made us question things in regards to their abilities.

In episode 10, “A Sticky Situation,” it was all about proving how strong your palate was. Because this was the blind taste test with Gordon Ramsay. This is the episode that we wait for every single season. In a lot of ways, this is the episode that proves which of these chefs has the best palate of them all, and there is no denying that the ladies had what it took to win the day.

And yes, it was the ladies of the red team that won this challenge. In fact, we had one lady who answers, and another who only got one wrong. It was a great opportunity to see just how strong the ladies’ palates are.

Honestly, this challenge from Chef Ramsay is always one of our favorites. We not only love to see who has the better palate, but we also like to see Gordon Ramsay‘s response to the wrong answers. Because every time someone gets the most obvious ingredient wrong, his reaction is priceless.

That being said, if you have never done a blind taste test before, you don’t realize how difficult it can be. It’s almost like you are second-guessing what you are tasting. Not having your sense of sight can be a true hindrance. That being said, you would also think that a professional chef would have an easier time of recognizing flavors without their sense of sight.

The blind taste test is also one that we would love to see Gordon Ramsay do himself. It would just be so amazing to watch him go through the same challenge that he puts his Hell‘s Kitchen competitors through. Maybe in a future season, we can see how Chef Ramsay handles a blind tasting challenge.
