On April 11, The Great American Baking Show returned for its third season on the Roku Channel. And maybe it is me, but we are thrilled to have Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, and a whole new batch of bakers under the iconic white tent.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, we are obsessed with The Great British Baking Show, but while we wait for a new season of that series, we are here for the Americans taking their shot at proving they can bake amazing desserts in a tent.

This season of The Great American Baking Show kicked off with cookie week. And there were some interesting cookies being baked up in the tent to showcase what viewers can expect in this season. Much like its British counterpart, this series is comforting and warm. There is still some humor in the tent and we love to see how Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith interact with each other.

Perhaps the only real downside to the first episode of the season was the fact that Prue had lost her voice. So it was a bit of a struggle for her as the new season of The Great American Baking Show kicked off. But like she said, not having her voice did not mean that she couldn’t enjoy some well baked cookies.

And while Prue might’ve struggled with her voice, it was amazing to see the very first Hollywood handshake handed out in the premiere episode. It was a sign that this is going to be another good season.

Honestly, I am so happy to see this series back and I love the fact that Roku channel is the platform giving us the series. It means that more of us may have the opportunity to enjoy the comfort of this baking competition.

I really hope a lot of people tune in to this season just so we get even more of The Great American Baking Show. And if you happen to binge watch the entire series over the weekend, we wouldn’t blame you.
