Two video clips from Strictly Come Dancing, Episode 7, have gone viral featuring Wynne Evans and Katya Jones. And now the dancing duo have issued a short video apology that some on social media are calling odd.
After the seventh episode of Strictly Come Dancing finished, two short clips of Wynne and Katya caught the attention of fans, with one video looking like the radio presenter seemed to be touching his pro dancer in a way she wasn’t comfortable with. In the second video, Wynne holds both hands up for Katya to give him a double high five and she seemed to roll her eyes and turn away from him without really acknowledging the movement.
With both of these moments catching the attention of fans, the duo took to social media to apologize to the viewers. In the short apology, the two claim that this was a joke between them and that they meant no harm.

Strictly Come Dancing viewers react to the apology video on social media
Fans of Strictly Come Dancing took to social media to share their thoughts on what happened and the joint apology video. And overall, the consensus seems to be that people find the whole thing odd and uncomfortable. Quite a few of the comments called Wynne Evans out on his behavior.
One X user, @Blowpobbs, reacted to the apology by commenting on the high five video with, "The clip where she ignores his high 5 and gives him the dirty look, sorry but imo that is definitely NOT fake."
Another X user commented on not only the apology video, but another post from Katya Jones on Instagram. According to @slinehan1, "The video and the explanations from Katya on Instagram and here on Twitter don't feel genuine. I hope I'm wrong but I feel like she's maybe being forced to say that it was a joke to stop any more scandals."
Still another comment said that while they could see the high five video being a joke, the other clip doesn't make sense as a joke. As @ImdIrx shared, "Fair enough with the 2nd clip but there was nothing “jokey” about the first one."
Watching all of the clips, it is hard to deny that there is something off about this whole situation and it is clear that viewers are noticing. As any number of X users pointed out, it is hard to see these clips and think that they were “messing around” with each other. And, there’s just something off about the apology itself, although in a post from Wynne himself the apology seems to be addressing the whole ignored high five moment. In a lot of ways, it just doesn’t make sense to issue an apology like this, but we could be overthinking it. But we will have to wait to see if anything else comes out of these clips and this apology.
