Sad news about a beloved friend of the Royal Family's child arrives after tragedy

As news from the tragic attack in New Orleans continues to arrive, we've learned from multiple reports that the Royal Family has suffered a terrible loss.

Hello Magazine reports that Edward Pettifer, the stepson of Prince William and Prince Harry's former nanny, Tiggy Legge-Bourke, passed away due to injuries suffered during the tragedy. He was 31 years old.

The son, brother, grandson and nephew was beloved by members of his immediate family and respected by the royals as well. Each group published remarks in the media as they acknowledged the reality of Edward's death and promised honor his memory moving forward.

Edward's father, Charles Pettifer, is a former member of the Coldstream Guards. In a public statement, Charles said that the Pettifer family is devastated by Edward's death in New Orleans and will miss him terribly as they grieve the loss of his son in private.

Charles Pettifer also showed an immense amount of grace and perspective by including condolences for the other families affected by the attack in New Orleans as well.

On the royal side, both King Charles and the future King of the United Kingdom, Prince William, delivered their own words of reflection.

GB News reports that King Charles was "deeply saddened" to hear about Edward's death through official channels and reached out to the victim's family to express his condolences. They also report that the Foreign Office will provide support to Edward's family.

In a different article, Hello Magazine reported that Prince William and Princess Catherine are shocked by Edward's sudden passing and are praying for the Pettifer family and everyone else affected by the events in New Orleans.

The article quoting the Prince and Princess of Wales reveals that Edward Pettifer's preliminary cause of death is listed as "blunt force injuries."
