In November 2024, Queen Camilla shared the sad news that Beth, her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, had passed away. Originally adopted from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Beth was a longtime companion to the queen. In fact, back in 2020 the pup even helped the queen with an official visit to Battersea. So it makes sense that while the queen was not rushing to replace her beloved companion, she was also open to it.
Of course, Queen Camilla does have another dog at home named Bluebell, who was also adopted from Battersea. But now both the queen and Bluebell have a new companion. And perhaps unsurprisingly, this new pup is also a rescue from the same organization.
According to Hello Magazine, the news about the newest addition to the family came on February 25 when Queen Camilla shared during a royal engagement that she had adopted a puppy named Moley. Moley is apparently a mixed breed, eight week old pup, who looks "like a mole." And considering the pup is a mixed breed, the queen was unable to really point to a breed when asked about Moley. Instead she answered the question with, "You may well ask. A bit of everything. It's a rescue dog."

That being said, it has been said that Moley does have some Jack Russell Terrier in her since her mother is said to be half Jack Russell. However, no matter what breeds make up Moley, it is clear that she is going to be well-loved and cared for now that she is officially a royal pet!
Considering both Beth and Bluebell were known to accompany the queen on engagements in the past, we would not be surprised to see Moley pop up in the future. Of course, at this point she is likely still too young for that. And we need her to get more comfortable with her new home and family first.
We can't wait to see and learn more about Moley in the near future. And hopefully we will get to see some dog content from the queen now that there is a new four-legged member of the royal family.
