In May 2024, The Great American Baking Show returned to The Roku Channel, with Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith returning as judges. And considering this dynamic duo are also the judges for Great British Baking Show, we know that they get to see and try a lot of baked goods. At the time, Leith sat down for an interview about the new season, where she talked about some of her likes and dislikes, as well as the differences between the US and UK.

Of course, with so many bakes to try, one of the questions that Delish actually asked Prue Leith about was the flavor that she most dreads when she sees it. And perhaps unsurprisingly, the flavor is a favorite in the US.

We all know that peanut butter is pretty much a go to flavor for a lot of us in the US. One of the most popular candies in the States is peanut butter cups (Reese's for the win). So it makes sense that especially when she is judging for the Great American Baking Show, peanut butter flavored desserts tend to pop up.

So when Prue revealed her dislike of peanut butter, quite a few hearts were broken in the baking world.

But what exactly did Prue Leith have to say about peanut butter? And what should future bakers on Great American Baking Show consider when it comes to baking in the tent?

"I hate peanut butter. I hate the way it's cloying, and it sticks to the roof of your mouth. And funnily enough, I love peanuts, and I love toasted peanuts or chopped-up peanuts, but I can't bear peanut butter."

So while peanut butter may be out, it sounds like American bakers might want to give peanuts a try in their bakes instead. Maybe this will give some bakers a bit of a leg up when it comes to earning a star baker title.

Are you at all surprised to learn that Prue Leith is not a fan of peanut butter? Do you think future bakers should pay attention to what the judges don't like when it comes to their bakes?
