For the first time in over 70 years, the Princess of Wales has the ability to issue royal warrants. And considering what a high honor it is to receive a royal warrant, it makes sense that this news is making waves. The fact that King Charles has granted Princess Catherine the privilege of being able to give out royal warrants to companies that she uses is a big deal.
And as Tatler reports, "It’s one of the highest honours a British brand can receive: a seal of approval from the Princess of Wales herself. Catherine’s impact on the world of British business is monumental." Obviously we are fascinated by the fact that Princess Catherine has been gifted this opportunity. However, we really want to know which brands will be getting a royal warrant.
There are any number of brands that have been impacted by what has been called the "Kate Effect." For anyone unfamiliar, the Kate Effect is an increase in business for a company, typically a fashion brand, that has been a staple in her life. For example, when the Princess of Wales carries a specific purse in public, and it in turn gets a boost in sales, that is basically the Kate Effect.
So having her issue a royal warrant to her favorite brands could lead to the Kate Effect in a whole new way. The question is, which brands could we see get a warrant from the princess. While we don't know yet, there are some definite brands that she has strongly supported over the years, although it seems like many are in the fashion sphere.
Which brands could Princess Catherine hand out a royal warrant to?
Tatler has pointed to brands such as Alexander McQueen, Catherine Walker and Jenny Pachkham as potential recipients of a royal warrant, as they are some of her go-to brands for fashion. And we could totally see that, and of course there are a number of jewelry and other accessory brands that might also be in the running.
However, we want to see the more personal brands that she offers a royal warrant to. Could Cadbury get their royal warrant back in the form of one from the Princess of Wales? Or is there a British tea brand that she loves that could get a warrant and see a boost in popularity? We won't know until her royal warrants are issued, but these are definitely the ones we are the most curious about.
Maybe it is us, but we can't wait to see how the Princess of Wales takes advantage of this opportunity provided to her by King Charles. And we can't wait to learn more about the brands she loves based on who she gives a warrant to.
