The men inside the House of Windsor have always loved their sports. Unfortunately, Prince William is usually alone when he wants to see his favorite football club, Aston Villa, play in person.
Luckily, a new report from Hello! Magazine shows that Prince William won't have to sit in the stands alone any longer, Prince George, William's oldest son, began showing an interest in football recently! William doesn't want to force a club onto his son as he learns more about the game on his own. However, there is one team the Prince of Wales "refuses" to let his son cheer for.
No Chelsea, No Problem

As a decades long supporter of Aston Villa, Prince William can't find it in his heart to let George root for Chelsea. Aston Villa and Chelsea share one of the longest rivalries in all of English sports; and having the only other football fan in the Royal Family root for the enemy team would probably be the worst outcome possible for the Prince of Wales!
According to Hello! Magazine, Prince William explained why he doesn't want George to become a Chelsea fan during an informal public appearance. During the appearance, William revealed that everyone around him roots for Chelsea. This means he can't avoid talking about The Blues whenever he wants to spend time with other football fans!
On the bright side, Prince William is a valuable member of the Aston Villa community. The informal event he attended gave Aston Villa fans a chance to spend time with the Prince of Wales while he was off duty before a match against Everton. Because of this, attendees were able to call him Will or William, an opportunity not provided at the Prince's more formal engagements.
A source interviewed by Hello! Magazine says that Prince William became a fan of Aston Villa after he attended a game with someone who looked after him as a child. Once the Prince had a chance to see the club in person, he became a lifelong fan whose loyalty never wavered.
If he is the same type of football fan as his father, Prince George should already be a passionate viewer of the game itself. The young royal can be seen with his father in multiple photographs cheering for Aston Villa and enjoying the fast-paced action the sport offers no matter who is playing.
We don't know the next time Prince William and Prince George will attend an Aston Villa fixture, but we will be sure to keep an eye out for any reports that show the father and son duo bonding over the beautiful game!
