Sometimes you just have to roll your sleeves up and do it yourself. Even if you’re a royal.
The aforementioned theory appears to be a regular practice for the Prince and Princess of Wales, as a recent Hello Magazine article reported that William and Catherine refuse to hire a butler for their Adelaide Cottage. In actuality, the couple prefer to keep a very small crew when staying at the residence.
Most cases only see the Royals employ a multi-talented yeoman who can handle multiple responsibilities and remain flexible while serving the Royals and their children.
A focus on sustainability guides the Prince and Princess of Wales' thought process
While one would think the Prince and Princess of Wales' operation would be much more high maintenance, William and Catherine are actually focused on being as sustainable as possible.
Hello Magazine reported that Prince William is dedicated to helping the environment as much as possible and wants to teach his children how to be mindful of their consumption. This includes educating them about the importance of turning the lights off when they leave the house and limiting their use of water.
At the same time, Robert Hardman, a biographer focusing on the Royal Family, claims that Adelaide Cottage also lacks the room to host a huge staff. A large operation would prevent the couple from having the best experience possible with their children because things would be too cramped when they're at home. So, ironically enough, this prevents the couple from hiring somebody who could help with the younger Royals during those busy work from home days.
In either case, it appears that Prince William and Princess Catherine are very mindful about the way they manage their home, raise their children, and do their part to protect the environment. This humanizes the Royals even more as they continue to deal with their recent personal challenges.
