Unfortunately, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could not spend Valentine's Day together.
The scheduling of the 2025 Invictus Games forced Prince Harry to stay in Canada while Megan returned to California to take care of the couple's two children, Archie and Lilibet.
However, the Duke of Sussex was not alone on February 14, as the royal decided to spend the day with the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, a First Nations community in British Columbia.
People reports that Harry visited a Tsleil-Waututh Nation school for a bit of dancing and cultural education. When the royal wasn't moving his feet, he was learning about the honorable work young Tsleil-Waututh leaders do to honor their culture and make sure their elders' traditions are not forgotten.
After he ended his day with the youth, Prince Harry received one of the most prestigious honors the Tsleil-Waututh Nation bestows on a person.
People states that the Duke of Sussex took part in a Tsleil-Waututh Nation blanketing ceremony. When explaining the significance of blanketing ceremonies, Sussex.com said, "Being blanketed is the highest honor, symbolizing protection, respect, and the recognition of one’s journey."
Sussex.com went on to claim that Prince Harry's blanketing was, "a powerful and sacred gesture that symbolizes the warmth and embrace of the community, offering a deep sense of belonging and solidarity. "
The power of the Invictus Games only makes the love grow stronger
Prince Harry's engagement with First Nations communities proves that the Invictus Games are a facilitator of healing, bonding, and friendship. Megan Markle agrees with this thought, as she wrote that the Games remind everyone of the power of healing and resilience in an Instagram post celebrating her Valentine.
In the post shown above, Meghan said that she missed Prince Harry and was proud of him for what he created with the Invictus Games. She also promised to eat burgers and fries and fish and chips with him forever.
The picture posted with her message shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kissing over a meal as Meghan affectionately touches her husband's chin.
Before Meghan left Canada to return to her children, she and Prince Harry shared a few public displays of affection throughout the week. This shouldn't be a surprise, however, as love was clearly in the air after the Invictus Games kicked off.
A few days before Valentine's Day, James Cairns proposed to his girlfriend Hannah Wilds. Prince Harry sent a congratulatory message to the couple and humorously added that they would at least leave the Invictus Games with a ring whether they gained a medal or not.
