Will King Charles make time to meet with Prince Harry when he arrives in London in May?

Prince Harry is heading to London in May 2024 to take part in a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. The event is set for May 8 at St. Paul's Cathedral, and will see the prince doing a reading as he represents the international sporting event he helped found with the Ministry of Defence to help shine a spotlight on veterans and active duty service men and women and their fighting spirits.

Of course, as soon as news broke that Prince Harry would be heading to London, the media immediately began speculating about who would be going with him, who he might be visiting with, and who won't be taking the time to reconnect. And one of the members of the royal family that rumors are circulating about is the prince's father.

According to Page Six, King Charles will likely be too busy to meet with his son. And it does make sense that he might not have time for a sit down meeting as he will just be getting back to work with more public facing duties after taking some time to treat his cancer.

So what all will the king be doing while Prince Harry is in London? It seems that, "the King’s busy schedule includes his weekly audience with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, as well as the first Buckingham Palace garden party of the season and previous engagements."

That being said, if King Charles is able to make time to see Prince Harry while he is in London, it will likely be a very brief meeting between the two. While they may be father and son, not only are both men quite busy, but there still seems to be tensions between the two, even after Prince Harry flew to the UK to visit his father as soon as news broke about the king's cancer diagnosis.

We really do hope that these two are able to meet up while the prince is in London for the Invictus Games celebration. While we will have to wait to see if their schedules allow King Charles and Prince Harry to visit with each other, it would be nice to see them intentionally making time for one another.
