Prior to marrying Prince Harry, we all know that Meghan Markle was a successful actress on the USA Network series, Suits. Her character is a senior paralegal in the law firm, Pearson Hardman, who ends up falling in love with an associate in the firm, genius and unlicensed lawyer, Mike Ross.

For seven seasons, we watched as Markle gave us some brilliant performances alongside a stellar cast. And honestly, it is hard to deny that for people who love a good legal drama, Suits was excellent.

Then Meghan Markle fell in love with a prince. And things shifted for not only the actress, but also the series. And while the now duchess tried to keep working, it seems as if the royal family had some stipulations for what she could and could not do on screen, as well as things that she was allowed to say (or not).

According to Suits creator, Aaron Korsh, it seems that there was at least one phrase that the royal family did not want Duchess Meghan saying on screen.

Suits creator reveals the phrase that Duchess Meghan was not allowed to say on screen according to the royal family

According to People Magazine, Korsh explained that the duchess was not allowed to say the phrase "poppycock" on screen. And it was something that really upset him, as it was meant to be a small, inside joke between himself and his family, and one that he had already told them would be included in the script.

In a recent interview Aaron Korsh explained, "So, in the episode, Mike and Rachel were going to have a thing, and as a nod to my in-laws, we were going to have her say, ‘My family would say poppycock.’ And the royal family did not want her saying the word. They didn’t want to put the word ‘poppycock’ in her mouth."

While no reason was apparently given, the fact that the royals did not want it said, meant that the phrase was apparently abandoned from the script. And we can't help but think that this is one of those moments that Korsh wishes had made it into the series, especially as it sees a resurgence in popularity thanks to the recent release of the series on Netflix.
