RHODubai: Did Taleen Marie go too far talking about Caroline Stanbury's age on Watch What Happens Live?
On episode 4 of the second season of The Real Housewives of Dubai, we saw Taleen Marie and Caroline Stanbury having a private conversation about Caroline's marriage to a younger man. At the time, the former Ladies of London star kind of joked that in 15 years Sergio might want to leave her for a younger woman.
This discussion of age, and in particular the age difference between Caroline and Sergio, bled over into an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Taleen was a guest on the WWHL episode and it seems that viewers were asked their opinion on whether or not the couple would last for more or less than 15 years.
Well, Taleen apparently had her own answer in relation to the age difference. In particular she made the comment "Stanbury will be dead by then." It was quite obvious that the RHODubai star was joking with the comment, especially with the smile on her face as she said it. However, the joke doesn't quite land in this case, and it was clear that even Andy wasn't a fan of the comment.
Check out the audience questions and even the moment when Taleen makes the "joke" in the video clip below:
For us, it feels like this was a joke too far. It's one thing to place odds on how long a marriage might last in the world of the housewives and it is another thing to joke about another woman being so old that she will have died in 15 years, especially when the woman in question is 48-years-old. While it may have been said jokingly, it is just this side of being rude and it was unnecessary.
Whether you like Caroline Stanbury or not, it is frustrating to see and hear the other ladies make digs at her age. For a lack of a better expression, it gets old rather quickly. There has to be a better way to poke fun at a fellow cast member other than targeting their age.
But we want to know what you think. Do you think Taleen was in the wrong with this dig at Caroline's age?
