Princess Catherine reveals cancer diagnosis in video posted to social media
Princess Catherine has taken to social media to reveal that she has been diagnosed with cancer. In the video that was posted to the Prince and Princess of Wales social media accounts, the princess explained that following her abdominal surgery in January, her medical team found that what was originally thought to be non-cancerous, did in fact have cancer cells present.
While thanking people for their well-wishes, the Princess of Wales explained that she had to first recover from the abdominal surgery before she could truly begin treatment of the cancer that was found. According to Princess Catherine, she has been advised by the medical team that she is working with that she should "undergo preventative chemotherapy." She is apparently in the early stages of that treatment.
She then went on to share that this has been a very difficult time for her family, especially as they had to find a way to explain things to their three young children in a way that was "appropriate for them." And of course, the goal was also to let her children know that she would "be okay."
After explaining what is happening, Princess Catherine asked for "time, space, and privacy" in order to deal with not only her treatments, but also to be with her family and children.
The Princess of Wales did say that her work brings her joy and that is something she is looking forward to getting back to once she is able to. However, she made it clear that work is not her priority as she must focus on herself and her family.

Obviously, we wish the Princess of Wales well and hope that she is in fact getting the best care possible. Plus, we hope that her children are also getting all of the support that they need at this time.
