Princess Anne will not be doing any royal engagements for the foreseeable future
On June 23, Princess Anne was involved in an accident at her home that lead to a five day hospitalization. It is being said that the Princess Royal received a head injury that is consistent with getting hit in the head with horse hooves. And while it has been a few days since the accident, it seems that the princess is still dealing with memory loss related to the injury.
According to The International News, the injury caused a concussion and while Princess Anne may have been released from the hospital, that doesn't mean that she is in the clear at this point. In fact, it is being said that the Princess Royal will have to postpone royal engagements for the foreseeable future, which makes perfect sense all things considered.
While she may be known as one of the hardest working royals, it is important that she take care of herself. And with her still not remembering what happened to her to cause her concussion, it makes sense that the doctors would want her to take it easy and take a break from work. Simply put, dealing with a concussion is not easy and when there is memory loss associated with the injury, that can make things even worse. Plus, we can't forget that Princess Anne is 73 years old.
Michael Cole, who is royal commentator, explained that, "She was supposed to be going to Canada this weekend. This week she was supposed to have been in Scotland, but obviously she's not going to do any of that until the doctors sign her off and say that she's back fit and ready to discharge her duties."
While her schedule may have been full before her injury, it is clear that it may be some time before she is able to take on her usual level of work for the monarchy. And of course, King Charles is also concerned about his sister's well-being and health.
It comes as no surprise that the Princess Royal will not be working for a while. And we would honestly be surprised if she came back to work any time soon, as this seems to have been a truly traumatic experience for the princess.
Are you at all surprised by the news that Princess Anne will not be working for a while?
