Prince William will be returning to the US in September 2023
In 2022, Prince William was set to visit the United States for the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit. Sadly, that was also around the same time that Queen Elizabeth II passed away.
For obvious reasons, this meant that Prince William did not end up making it to the US for the first summit meeting in 2022. However, it looks like the Prince of Wales will be making his way over to the states, according to People Magazine. And unsurprisingly, it is because of the 2023 Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit.
Since the prince was unable to attend the first summit, he did record a video message that was shared with attendees. At the time, he pointed out that he and his grandmother were both committed to "protecting the environment." He also told them that, "I know she would have been delighted to hear about this event and the support you're all giving our Earthshot finalists, the next generation of environmental pioneers."
In an announcement from Kensington Palace on July 19, we learned that the prince will be in New York City for the second summit which takes place on September 19. And he will be in town for two days for the summit, which is set to unveil the 15 finalists for the Earthshot Prize awards, and more.
Prince William is returning to the US for a number of engagements, including the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit
On top of the summit itself, it seems that the prince will also be taking part in other meetings and engagements. However, we don't really know anything else about his visit to the states at this time.
While they may not reveal too many more details about his upcoming trip to the US, there is always the possibility that Kensington Palace will share some of the other plans that the prince has in place for this trip. Until then, we at least have this visit to look forward to from Prince William.
