Prince Harry is set to speak at the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting in NYC
Prince Harry is heading to New York City for the week of September 22 and it is set to be a busy week for the prince. Not only is he taking part in engagements with the Diana Award, the HALO Trust and more, but it turns out that he will also be speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting.
According to WRAL News, Prince Harry is not the only notable name speaking at this year's gathering. Other big names participating this year include Jose Andres, the founder of the World Central Kitchen, and Matt Damon. It sounds like a pretty big deal for the Duke of Sussex, especially considering who all will be speaking in 2024.
Wondering what the topic of this year's annual meeting is? Well it seems that, "the theme of this year’s gathering of political, business and philanthropic leaders is “What’s Working” – an effort to shine a spotlight on potential solutions and effective aid in a tumultuous period marked by war, increased income inequality and food insecurity."
So what exactly will Prince Harry be speaking about at this year's meeting?
Prince Harry will be a speaker at this year's Clinton Global Initiative meeting in NYC
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Duke of Sussex will actually be talking about the recent launch of the Archewell Foundation Parents’ Network. For anyone unfamiliar with what this is, it is actually an initiative that helps to support parents of children who have either been harmed or died due to "online harms." In many cases, internet bullying is the primary harm associated with these injuries or death.
It is being said that Prince Harry is planning, "to address his nonprofit’s collaboration with the World Health Organization and others to end violence against children, an issue he and his wife Meghan outlined on a recent trip to Colombia."
Honestly, it makes perfect sense for Prince Harry to speak at the Clinton Global Initiative meeting this year, considering the theme is all about "What's Working," in the world today. With so many instances of harm and death around online bullying, it makes sense that the prince's initiative to support parents who have faced these problems would be part of the conversation. And we hope that it makes a difference to have many important people hearing what is happening and how we can stop it.
