New book claims that Taylor Swift turned down invite to perform at King Charles III's coronation
We all know that Omid Scobie is releasing a new book called Endgame. As a royal expert, Scobie seems to know a lot about what goes on within the royal family. And apparently one of those things has to do with an invite to Taylor Swift to perform at King Charles III's coronation in May 2023.
According to US Weekly, the new book claims that not only was Swift invited to perform for the king, but she said no. And she was not the only one. In the book, Omid Scobie explains that it was a big problem for the people organizing the event, as they struggled to get performers to take part in the coronation celebrations.
Apparently Endgame does not explain why Taylor Swift said no to the coronation, but at the same time, all it takes is a look at her schedule to get a clear picture of why she might not have been able to perform for the king. As any fan of Taylor Swift knows, 2023 was a big year for the singer as she has been on a massive tour, the Eras Tour. And yes, that includes tour dates around the same time that King Charles III was being coronated.
Taylor Swift apparently said no to King Charles III's coronation, but it makes sense based on her schedule
Taylor Swift was performing in Nashville, Tennessee when King Charles III's coronation was underway. And it would have been difficult, if not impossible for Swift to not only live up to her Eras Tour commitments, as well as perform at his coronation. So are we surprised that she said no? Absolutely not.
While most of the artists who were apparently invited to perform did not comment on why they said no, including Harry Styles and Adele, reps for Elton John did explain that the legendary singer was unable to perform due to scheduling conflicts that prevented him from taking part.
Honestly, most of the performers who apparently said no to the coronation did so because they were already scheduled to be in other places. And we can't imagine them canceling their plans, even if it was for the king's coronation.
This may not seem like news since this is something many of us knew, but the fact that it is said to be part of Omid Scobie's book has definitely renewed interest in what happened and why people turned down the king.
